Update:8/30/19 I now have 2 pairs of nimbus 20 10.5 extra wide and they are great! But asics only makes the wide and extra wide in the carbon black model. I had to get extra wide to come the closest to fitting like nimbus 18. I would give 5 stars but it shouldn't be that difficult to find comfort in newer models from the same manufacturer. I have a pair of asics nimbus 18 size 10.5 standard width and they fit perfect. I can be on my feet 10 hours and they don't hurt. I then purchased nimbus 19 size 10.5 and they were way too small in length and width. sent them back. Then after reading reviews I realized that many people had the same problem with the nimbus 19. People also seemed to have a similar problem with the nimbus 20 not fitting in width. I really appreciate that the nimbus 18 were so comfortable all day and fit perfect. Anyway I tried the nimbus 20 size 11 and they were just a little to long, sent back and now I have the nimbus 20 size 10.5 WIDE and they fit ok. When I compared my nimbus 18 size 10.5 to my nimbus 20 size 10.5 wide, I found that the nimbus 18 are wider by 2 mm. The nimbus 18 regular is wider than the nimbus 20 wide. In my opinion asics may have decided to shave a couple millimeters off the product to save money in the manufacturing. The nimbus 20 does not fit as comfortably as the nimbus 18 either. The nimbus 20 wide is still more narrow at the toe than the 18 was. The length is fine. I am on my feet at least 10 hours a day and need shoes that are comfortable all day. The nimbus 20 feels comfortable so far. I have not spent an entire day working in them yet. I will update that after a few days in themI'm a long time Asics Nimbus/Cumulus user, but a few years ago I decided to try other brands too to find something with a little less cushioning. I tried Brooks Glycerin which were way too soft and out-sole was not durable; Mizuno Wave Rider that had a very durable out-sole but the cushioning collapsed very quickly. The last NImbus I had was the 12 that I put almost a 1000 miles on! I liked them, but thought that the cushioning was slightly too soft. So couple of weeks ago I bought the Nimbus 20 after reading that they were stiffer than previous Nimbus models.I now only have 3x5miles on them, so I'm just giving first impressions. They do feel stiffer than previous Nimbus that I've had, which for me is a good thing. However, sizing is clearly smaller, I would say between 1/4-1/2 size. I bought size 11 and I'm getting blisters on the tip of my toes. It's not too bad, but if I were to run a marathon, I would buy a 1/2 size bigger.I was hesitant at first, not knowing whether to order these in wide or x-wide, but as fate was looking out for me, x-wide was the only one available at the time in my size. Had i ordered just wide, they would have been way too tight, because the x-wide seems to fit like a medium shoe. I've always felt this shoe brand carries mostly narrow shoes, until I was referred this particular shoe for Plantar Fasciitis, so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm not 100% sold on them yet... i need to wear them more.I bought these shoes for the neutral support etc. I wear them every day as my all-round shows. I supinate (walk on the outside of my feet) and when I put in these shoes they were so comfortable. And they have been for just about two months. But after about two months they have become worn out enough that they can be uncomfortable after a few hours. Unlike a lot of other sneakers I’ve tried, these had a pretty steep ‘cliff’ of comfort. One day they were great, next day they were uncomfortable. I had hoped to get 3-4 months out of these like many other shoes in the neutral support category.I may give these another shot any buy another pair, but who knows.Had a pair of Nimbus 16s a few years ago. After the first pair wore out I went to a different ASICS shoe because it was a good deal when Sports Authority went out of business. Now they were end of life so time for another new pair. The second pair never quite felt right on my foot and I know my motivation to run suffered. I even starting having issues with a mild but persistent case of plantar fasciitis. So I'm back to Nimbus, this time version 20. Thanks to everyone who mentioned to order bigger than normal, they are a perfect fit with size 12E even though I normally wear 11.5D. What a difference! I run on the outside of my feet (under pronation), and these definitely are made for people like me. I feel back to normal and once again looking forward to the afternoon run. My legs and back are happy too. My only complaint is that the only color available in my size was black.I've put 7 months and 600 miles on these shoes. I've worn them for running only. I average about 3.5 miles daily. Since day one, they fit like a glove, no pressure points, and no blistering. I find the sizing to be exact. The soles have held up great. The tread is still intact and the uppers look new. I usually wear out the rear outside sole of my shoes. I have a normal to supinator gait. These shoes don't reflect the usual compression and wear on the heel that most of my shoes show at this stage.I'm buying a second pair now because I'm advised running shoes last 400 miles and should be replaced.I've spent $200 on running shoes before. I've tried almost every brand. I don't remember ever being this satisfied. This is the first time I'm going back for the same exact make/model of a shoe. I'm looking forward to another 600 miles!I bought a few pairs as they aren't made any more and they are one the few shoes that I can comfortably run in. I had to go up one size as the toe area is tight. I normally wear a 9.5 in the extra wide, but the 10 in the medium size fits really well and took minimal time to break in.The fit is good, size 11 since N16. It does feel narrower, both on the sides and the toe part, not a big problem for me as my feet are not wide. My knees are no longer young so I fell in love with N16 the minute I put them on. N17 is even more comfortable and I wore them all day long. N20 feels not as soft and comfortable at all as my previous N17. I have been wearing Nimbus shoes mostly for walking, and occasionally for jogging on road. With this pair, walking is as good, but after jogging my knees feel a bit painful. Hope one day ASICS will relaunch the N17s.Very little support with these shoes when running on road . I was very disappointed as paying £117 for these shoes and have been purchasing this make for years with no previous problems .Feels like I'm running in cheap gym footwear not proper running shoes . I wasn’t expecting problems at all . I guess running on grass might be okay? ,but living in the city I run mainly on pavements .Can't send back because I have used them .One things for sure I shall look elsewhere in the future for my running shoes .I am not an athlete, but I do 10000+ steps a day at work. When I read the specification of this shoe, I knew it was just what I needed for walking around all day to protect me from my heel spur. I was right, so very good.Been buying previous models but have got to say that this upgrade not the same quality as previous versions. Fit is ok but the previous models were a little more generous. Feel that quality has dropped marginally.
